The Shoot
I generally shoot one or two people a day. I shoot at my home studio in Los Feliz using beautiful natural light, tailoring it to make you look your best. I’ll shoot a variety of angles and will guide you as needed. You’ll get a number of fantastic images suitable for both commercial and theatrical headshots. We’ll take our time, insuring that you feel comfortable. Feel free to choose from my large music library while enjoying a cup of coffee and talking about the shoot. I won’t stop until we both feel we’ve captured you at your best. I’m often told by clients that their shoot with me was the easiest and most comfortable they have had.
Afterwards
By the end of the day I’ll have your shoot digitally processed with color and brightness corrections. I then upload the images to the client area of my website where you can use a password to view them and mark your favorites. This is particularly helpful since your manager, agent or friends can view the gallery on-line at their convenience to make their suggestions. Some photographers offer a disc of pictures when you leave their shoot but the very best quality images require more time and that’s how I choose to work. If you like, I can provide all the images on disc within a few days. It’s important to me that you get the highest quality work. Once you have selected you favorite(s) I offer professional retouching for an additional fee or can refer you elsewhere. You’ll then make your quantity reproductions directly from the final image(s) I provide you on disc. I also include a color match print for the printer or lab.
Clothing
I’m sure you have a handful of tops that you feel you look best in. I recommend that you bring 6 to 8 clothing options and we’ll narrow them down together at the shoot. Solid colors are best as well as gray and black. Avoid loud patterns or anything with writing or graphics. These will simply distract from the most important part of the picture...you! As a general rule you should avoid white but if you really love a particular white top, bring it along.
Make-up and Hair
I recommend professional hair and make-up for women and can refer a few fantastic artists that I frequently work with. They are top artists in their field with many years of experience and the difference will show. Men will also benefit from professional grooming. Pricing is from $100-$150. You pay the artist directly on the day of the shoot.
Payment Policy
I accept cash, check and most major credit cards. Personal checks must clear before delivery of headshots. California sales tax will be added.
